I have been asked to design and create a front cover and a contents page for a school magazine. This shall take place over the course of 5 weeks, and during those 5 weeks I must explain my reasons for certain things including layout and target audience by analysing magazine front covers and contents pages too. I shall be annotating and explaining my reasons for certain changes in my magazine and contents page, and doing this to other magazines and contents pages too, so that I have examples of what makes a good or bad magazine. I must use a minimum of 4 original images, and ensure that these images are my own, and that the people within the images have given me permission to use them to ensure I am not breaking the law or a form of copyright whilst doing my work. The magazine will feature a student in a medium close-up – a photo which I must take myself – before editing the photo using DTP and an imagine manipulation program. I also have produce fonts and appropriate texts to go with the image used and to suit the target audience and readers of this magazine. I also have to create a mock up of the basic layout, and create a contents page to show my understanding of the software used.
