This magazine isn't the best, but it works rather well. There is a lot going on in both pages, making the magazine look confusing overall. However, the contents page also looks rather informative, with lots of text and information on the contents page. The layout on the front cover is full of many different colours, also looking rather messy. The layout on the contents page looks much better, as there are just three colours; blue, white and purple. The blue at the bottom is to catch the eye of the reader, as it may have significant importance, or may be something that the school needs to tell the reader that is also important. The purple column on the left looks rather good, as it also catches your eye, and you are drawn to read what is said there, which informs you of recent events. The text is all the same colour too, which helps. Overall, I'd give this a 6 out of 10.
This magazine looks brilliant. There is a subtle layout colour, which is a green/teal, and other colours also go with this, matching rather well. There is a vast majority of red on the front over and there are four numbers/letters, and that is all. This reads 'AH12' meaning Arnold House, 2012. This looks brilliant, as there is a minimalist effect here. Also, the letters and numbers have photos of the students within them. This is great, as you don't see this an awful lot, and also, because it helps you to understand just what the magazine is about straight away, and gives a brilliant look overall. The contents page also has a rather minimalist effect, with plain white as the background, and black text overall. There are different colours for headings however, and this helps to make those pieces of text stand out significantly. Overall, I'd give this an 8 out of 10.
This magazine works beautifully, especially due to the colour scheme. The purple in the front cover is bold in comparison to the vast majority of black and white on the front cover. Also, the photography on both the front cover and the contents page look very professional as they are massively high quality, and also have some form of filter in a few of the photos. The layout on the contents page also works well, as the main page colour is a plain block white, with a standard black body text. The titles and headings on the contents page are colourful however, making them stand out out in comparison. Altogether, the magazine looks near to perfect, and I don't think there's really anything I would change about it, personally. The magazine is very eye-catching, as there isn't too much going on in either of the pages, and this makes everything look far more organized and structured, once again looking intriguing to passers by, and ensuring that people become readers of the magazine and enjoy the look of it. I'd give it a 10 out of 10.
